There is plenty you can do to remedy the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome diet and most of it is as simple as avoiding the foods known to exacerbate the problem. ie. Increase high-fiber foods
Such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans. It works to correct constipation and is useful for diarrhea because it absorbs water in the intestine and adds bulk to the stool (bulk also seems to lessen the severity of spasms).
Note: Add extra fibre slowly to minimize bloating and gas. Drinking at least eight glasses of water a day when will assist with elimination. Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Take peppermint oil capsules
There have been several studies which show that peppermint oil can be a genuine help to IBS sufferers, and anecdotal evidence seems to back this up.Peppermint oil can act as a natural anti-spasmodic, which means it can help to cut down on the spasms occuring in the gut which can cause such pain in IBS sufferers.
Exercise
Exercising for at least 20 minutes a day will keep the bowels moving normally, pump your lympatic system and reduce stress.
Find a way to reduce stress
Reducing stress is an absolute must as high levels of stress can trigger attacks. Take up yoga, tai chi, or relaxation techniques. Here are some additional ways to reduce stress.
