Aloe Vera Water Filter
Aloe Vera has many uses. One way that I like to use Aloe Vera is as a water filter as it removes the chlorine
taste from the water.
Preparation
New leaves grow from the centre upward so it is best to leave the fresh, young leaves be which are located on
the top of the plant, and just cut the older, outer leaves.
The aloe leaf consists of rind containing sap, the latex layer containing its bitter juice, and the gel layer
which is a rich source of over 200 naturally occurring nutritional substances..
Peel off the skin from aloe vera. Try not to get the yellow latex juice on your clothes as it will stain. The
easiest way to avoid this is to wash the aloe under running tap water until it is clear and transparent. Cut into
cubes.
How to Use
Simply place your peeled chunk of Aloe Vera gel (with the yellow sap washed off) into a large jug of water
and put it in the refrigerator. As the liquid is taken out to drink, just top up the jug again.
After several weeks of use, a new chunk of Aloe Vera gel can be started in a clean jug of water.
